My Favorite Culinary Delights Across Europe and Beyond

Exploring the culinary scene while traveling is a delightful adventure, filled with surprises and unforgettable flavors. Here are some of my favorite dining experiences from various corners of the globe:

Il Chianti – Truffle Pumpkin Ravioli – Rome, Italy

Nestled in the heart of Rome, Il Chianti captivated my taste buds with its exquisite Truffle Pumpkin Ravioli. Unlike typical sweet pumpkin pasta, this dish boasted a savory blend of nutmeg and truffle, creating a harmonious explosion of flavors. Pairing it with a vintage 2005 Chianti elevated the dining experience to new heights.

Misaki Japanese Restaurant – Sushi – Sorrento, Italy

Surprisingly, some of the best sushi I’ve ever had was in Sorrento, Italy. Misaki’s freshness and quality rivaled even renowned sushi spots in Seattle. Despite its upscale ambiance, the restaurant offered reasonably priced daily delights, making it a must-visit gem in Sorrento.

Chez Black – Mussels – Positano, Italy

A bowl of mussels at Chez Black in Positano is worth a visit to the city. Served in a delectable tomato soup broth alongside warm bread, this simple yet divine combination paired perfectly with an Aperol spritz, creating an idyllic summer lunch experience. It right on the sand so you truly can’t beat that.

La Voglia – Steak Tartare – Nice, France

During my trip to Nice, France, I tried the steak tartare at La Voglia. It was perfectly balanced and fresh, making it one of the best dishes I had in France.

Zeit Für Brot – Sticky Buns – Berlin, Germany

For lovers of classic cinnamon rolls, Zeit Für Brot in Berlin is a must-visit. Their warm, gooey walnut sticky bun, enjoyed amidst Berlin’s fall ambiance, was a heavenly treat that left a lasting impression. I am still meaning to re-create it, once I do I will make a post for the recipe.

Elephant & Castle – Buffalo Chicken Wings – Dublin, Ireland

Dublin’s Elephant & Castle is home to the best buffalo chicken wings I’ve ever tasted. Generous portions and unbeatable flavors made this dish a highlight, perfect for fueling up before exploring Dublin’s lively pub scene. Note: the location in NYC does not offer the chicken wings

Murphy’s Ice Cream – Ice Cream Sandwich – Dingle, Ireland

Sometimes, simplicity shines brightest. Murphy’s Ice Cream in Dingle, Ireland, serves a classic yet irresistible homemade vanilla ice cream sandwiched between chocolate chip cookies, a timeless indulgence.

L’eto – Pistachio Tres Leche Cake – London, England or Dubai, UAE

L’eto’s pistachio tres leche cake is a dessert dream come true. Whether in London or Dubai, this delicacy from their dessert counter is a must-try, showcasing the culinary finesse of this renowned establishment. To highlight there are 30+ desserts on display at the window, this is a must!

Central Kavana – Rose Wine – Split, Croatia

Croatia’s Central Kavana offers a glass of rose wine that defines perfection—crisp, fruity, dry, and tart, a true gem that embodies the essence of Croatian wine culture.

Monkey Bar – Truffle Pasta – New York City, USA

Amongst the diverse culinary landscape of New York City, Monkey Bar’s truffle pasta stands out as a personal favorite. Its creamy yet balanced truffle flavor makes it a must-order dish for any pasta enthusiast.

Clinton Street Baking Company – Smoked Salmon Latkes Benedict – New York City, USA

For a brunch experience like no other, Clinton Street Baking Company’s smoked salmon latkes Benedict is a culinary masterpiece. The blend of potato latkes, smoked salmon, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce creates a symphony of flavors that’s hard to forget.

These delicious finds are just a peek into the wide array of flavors waiting to be explored worldwide. From savory delights in Italy and France to sweet indulgences in Germany and beyond, each bite tells a unique story of culture and craftsmanship. So, next time you travel, don’t just see the sights—savor the flavors and create unforgettable memories at every meal.
